E Hoomau Maua Kealoha
"Our Love Begins the Union of Our Life Together"
In Hawaiian legend the naupaka flower represents
lovers who were tragically separated. Like the lovers, one half
of the flower was "banished" to the mountains and the
other to the ocean's sandy shore. In this Ka Palapala Male showing
both the Koolau mountains and Kaneohe Bay, the naupaka flowers -
like the lovers - are once again whole and joined forever.
E Hoomau Maua Kealoha
He ola hou ko loko nei i na kupukupu aloha.
Life is once more alive within me for love of you.
Ma o ke aloha e'ikea ai na newa o loko nei.
The secrets within me are seen through love.
Na'u ku'u aloha a na ku'u aloha no au.
I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine.
I pa'a ai ia kaua he home e pili ai e puni
ai na hoaaloha
May we create a home that surrounds our family and friends
me ka hau'oli a me ke aloha pumehana
with warmth, laughter and love.
E ola mau ko kaua aloha.
May our love last forever.
